FlowSphera 2.4.0 release notes

Change a device's address (+6 more changes)

7 November 2026

Added

  • Change a device's address (Settings → Devices → Edit → Change address…): when a device starts exporting from another address, everything set for it — interface names, roles, capacities, SNMP — moves there, and the old address stays its alias, so the device's history (device: filter, Through device, Path analysis, the charts) continues without a break. (GitHub issue #4)

  • Export / import devices as a JSON file (Settings → Devices), for another server or editing many devices by hand; each device is checked as the form checks it, nothing changes unless all pass, confirmed with your password.

  • Port, host and network names as CSV (Settings → Flow configuration): Export CSV and Import CSV… on each table. An import adds and replaces rows by address / network / port and keeps the rest; it shows what is new, changed and unreadable (with the file's line numbers) before saving. Reads «,» «;» or tabs, so a file saved by Excel in any language works. (GitHub issue #2)

  • Sources that send but are not described say so and can be ignored (what they send is dropped); the list of ignored sources with «stop ignoring» is under the table.

  • Reports hold every page that has something for them: new parts Applications (the busiest applications with their category, hosts and users, the categories, the users and the new applications), Ports, Usage by host (every inside host both ways), Traffic classes (DSCP) (with the devices that re-mark them) and Interfaces (all the traffic through each device: average, 95th percentile, peak, % of the capacity). Devices adds records/s over the period, the busiest minute, the license's limit and records over it, earlier addresses and ignored sources. Reports made before get the new parts switched on once.

Fixed

  • Applications: «identified» counted the traffic from before the devices began naming applications — over a month with three days of names it said 2.3 %; now the share starts with the first application named. A report of a period before that says when the devices began, instead of «no device named applications».
  • The documentation pointed to /etc/flowsphera/exporters.json for devices described in the UI; they are kept in /var/lib/flowsphera/exporters.json.
